TALES FROM THE DUST MART

Little things.
Second chances.

A lost trade. A forgotten crumb. One frozen drop.
Something small decided to stay.

01 / THE FIRST LITTLE LIFE

What the market left behind.

At the Dust Mart, the lights stayed on long after anyone had a sensible reason to be awake. Customers queued for snacks, stared into their phones, and said things like “one more trade” with the confidence of people who had said it six times already.

In Mimo’s world, a lost trade leaves a little dust. It slips from a phone when a hopeful chart turns red—a tiny remainder of the plan someone thought would work. Most people brush it away.

One night, a little of that dust landed beneath the frozen-drink machine. It gathered around orange-cookie crumbs and a sticky trace of fruit. Then a drop fell from the spout.

The pile shivered.

Another drop. A slow breath. Two eyes opened in the crumbs.

Mimo’s first thought wasn’t about the market.
It was: “Is there any more of that?”

Small, hungry, and rather surprised to exist, Mimo made a home on the counter. The dust had carried disappointment. Mixed with something sweet—and given a little care—it had become a life with possibilities of its own.

A black cat named Ninja noticed first. He pushed a snack within reach, pretended it was an accident, and stayed nearby.

02 / KNOW YOUR CREW

Three small lives. One shared home.

The crew begins here. Each friend has a place in the story and something to do in the game.

01

THE LITTLE BEGINNING

Mimo

Born from lost-trade dust, Mini-Mart crumbs, fruit, and a frozen drop. Curious and quietly generous, Mimo sees possibilities in the things everyone else walks past.

In the game
Catch drops, gather dust, find ingredients, rest, and help new friends come to life.
What matters to him
A full tummy. A safe place. Someone to share both with.
“Maybe this could become something.”
Ninja, a black cat with golden-yellow eyes and a lilac collar02

THE UNOFFICIAL NIGHT MANAGER

Ninja

Nobody remembers hiring him. Nobody has successfully explained that to him, either. Ninja knows the shelves, the quiet corners, and which snacks can be nudged loose.

In the game
Pushes snacks, knocks dust from shelves, offers a friendship necklace after five pets, and shares his upstairs room.
His small mystery
He knows much more about the Dust Mart than he lets on.
“You nap. I’ll patrol the snacks.”

Pip, a peach-orange dust creature with a sprout and bottle-cap hat03

THE FIRST FRIEND MIMO MAKES

Pip

A bottle cap, three dust finds, an orange cookie, an orange, and a cup of Liquid Dust become a tiny companion. Pip’s arrival is the moment Mimo discovers he can help another life begin.

In the game
Appears when the drink-machine mixture finishes, follows Mimo, and earns a Friendship Heart after sharing five cookie crumbs.
Favourite discovery
Being alive comes with snacks.
“Being alive is hungry work.”

AFTER HOURS / THE PEOPLE OF DUST MART

Two new faces. A place to belong.

Meet Ren and Nao: a last-train regular and the night clerk who makes the city feel a little less lonely.

THE LAST-TRAIN REGULAR · AGE 26

Ren

Ren moved to the city with a new suit, a steady job, and the hope that everything else would fall into place. Three years into office life, he knows his commute better than his neighbours and still wonders where he belongs.

Polite, curious, and quietly funny, he often stays late because saying “no” feels harder than missing the last train. He loves handheld games and keeps unfinished ideas for one of his own tucked away on his phone.

An overnight wait brings him to Dust Mart. Returning becomes a choice. Through conversations with Nao and the shop’s late-night regulars, Ren starts finding his people—and the confidence to decide what he wants from city life.

What he’s looking for
His people, a sense of belonging, and a little room for his own ideas.
“Still figuring out where I fit. This place feels like a start.”

THE NIGHT-SHIFT PLAYER · AGE 25

Nao

Nao works Dust Mart’s overnight shift while saving to move her parents to a safer neighbourhood and help support her family. Behind her quick jokes and easy smile is someone who feels responsible for making things better at home.

An active meme coin trader, she follows charts, community chats, and internet culture between shifts. She knows trading can bring losses, but separating opportunity from wishful thinking gets harder when her goals feel urgent.

Away from work, Nao is active in anime, gaming, and cosplay circles. She sketches costume ideas, helps friends prepare for events, and dreams of having an artist-alley booth of her own.

She found Ninja as a kitten out back of Dust Mart and has cared for him ever since. With food, a warm sleeping spot, and Nao keeping an eye on him, the shop became his second home. He still waits by the back door when her shift is about to begin.

She welcomes Ren into her world through game clips, convention stories, and conversations that last longer than either expects.

What she’s working toward
A safer home for her family, with a little room for her own creative dreams.
“Saving for somewhere my family can breathe easier. Keeping a little room for my own dreams.”

03 / A SMALL WORLD WORTH EXPLORING

Welcome to the Dust Mart.

To the customers, it’s a stop on the way home. To the crew, it’s the whole world—for now.

The drink counter

Where Mimo began. Ordinary ingredients meet a frozen drop, and sometimes something extraordinary opens its eyes.

The checkout

Phones glow, customers chat, and a little market dust drifts down. Mimo waits below, finding a use for what falls.

Ninja’s delivery route and Mimo’s treasure hunt. Bottle caps, crumbs, fruit, and dust become ingredients for a new beginning.

The upstairs room

A warm bed above the noise. Mimo and Pip rest while Ninja makes his rounds. Nothing needs to happen quickly here.

THE STORY GROWS WITH THE CREW

Mimo wasn’t the last thing
the dust could become.

After Pip arrived, the floor looked different to Mimo. A lost object might be an ingredient. An empty corner might be a home. A little patience might be all that something needed.

He started bringing things back to the counter. Ninja started leaving things where Mimo could find them.

Neither of them called it a plan. But there was room upstairs for one more.
